This iconic spot draws surfers from around the globe, drawn to its powerful and technical wave. Reserved for experienced surfers, it delivers exceptional conditions during strong swells. Its spectacular tubes and fast sections have long captured the imagination of the international surf community.
Since 2021, surfing on the Gauche de Saint-Leu has been made possible again within a supervised safety framework (Water Patrol / BSAN) deployed across the town’s surf spots. This designated area, with enhanced monitoring, has breathed new life into surfing at this emblematic site following several years of suspension.
