No prior experience is needed to take flight above Saint-Leu. Discovery flights typically last between 15 and 25 minutes, just long enough to taste the first thrilling sensations. Depending on the school, younger participants may also take part, subject to weight and safety requirements.
From the heights of Les Colimaçons, take-off immediately opens up sweeping views of Réunion’s dramatic landscape and the Indian Ocean. Seated in tandem with a qualified instructor, you glide above ravines, sugarcane fields and the rooftops of Saint-Leu. Gradually, the lagoon takes shape beneath your feet as the west coast stretches out to the horizon.
Before landing, the paraglider sweeps over the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean. Keep your eyes open — with a little luck, you may spot dolphins leaping through the waves. During the austral winter, humpback whales may also drift into your field of vision. Your flight concludes with a gentle landing on the beach at Saint-Leu, near Kélonia.
